Do Not Fear

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Franklin Patrick Herbert Jr. was an American science fiction novelist, journalist, and photographer best known for the epic Dune series. First published in 1965, Dune won the Hugo and Nebula Awards and became the best-selling science fiction novel of all time, spawning five sequels exploring ecology, politics, and religion. Herbert also wrote works like The Dragon in the Sea and The Dosadi Experiment, influencing the genre profoundly.
